A week without Ty.

This last week was the muzzleloader hunt. My mom and dad took Ty and my neice Shaylee up for the whole week. This is the first time Ive been away from Ty (except to have Chase) for more then a night. Of course, he got spoiled up there and didnt want to come home at all. I took the girls up on Thursday night because they didnt have school on Friday. Thinking maybe, just maybe Ty would want to come home. I pulled up and he actually looked excited to see me. But when I picked him and and mentioned him coming home he would have nothing more to do with me. He told me, "Im staying with Grandpa!"

Chase did enjoy his week at home being the only baby though. No one was there to rip every single toy out of his hand or to take away the attention from him and he ate that up.

We ended up going up on Saturday for the day. Chase had a tummy bug and didnt feel good and puked the whole way up. :-( He was good for the rest of the day until about night fall and then got sick again.

But I did get my Ty back and he talked my leg off the whole way home.

Childhood Friends

I found a few of my old friends on face book this last month. When I heard that Lisa (my best friend since forever) was coming to visit from AZ this last weekend we decided we would meet at the Hillcrest Park (the park by our old elementary school).
Me, Lisa, Heather and Kim were able to get together for a quick reunion. It was fun to catch up on eachother and show off all of our cute kids. We will have to do it in another 10 years. ;)

I dont know why we dont do this more often. The kids love it. They are always good. But I guess Im just a lazy mom. Anyway, Kayleah had invited Jentry to come see Jace's game. So I took her to the park to watch it and just decided to stay for awhile.

I didnt get any really good pictures. Mostly the tops of heads or the back of someone because they were running around like mad!! And by the time I snapped the pic they were outta there!!



One cute thing that happened was a little girl came up to me and said... Is that your little boy (pointing to Chase) and I said yes. Thinking she was going to tell me he did something to her. She asked, "can I keep an eye on him?" I told her yes. And boy oh boy did she keep an eye on him (for the 2 minutes before her mom called her. She seriously was so close to him most of the time that Chase kept looking at her weird, like...what do you think you are doing. It was very cute.

Fry Family Reunion...

Last Saturday was the anual Fry family reunion. This year they were doing a benefit auction for my Uncle Steve who will be getting a heart transplant soon (WE HOPE!) There were a lot of people that showed up, a lot of cute items for the auction, and a lot of generosity.

Do you remember losing your molars???

A few days ago, on the boards we were talking about this. Do you remember losing your molars? Most people didnt. I dont remember losing mine. So when Jentry showed me hers was about to come out...I thought Id better get a picture of it. Her new tooth was pushing that baby tooth out!!




But it wasnt THAT loose! But of course...Jentry was going to make it that loose!! So she pulled and she twisted and she got that thing out!!! It looks a lot littler out of her mouth. That was her first molar. I remember her getting it. Those things arent very nice to little babies. It kind of made me sad that she lost it. :( But she did write the tooth fairy a cute little Thank you.




And what do you know... the tooh fairy gives TWO dollars for molars.

1st Grade Grandma and Grandpa Program

Today me and the boys went to see Brinleys dress rehearsal of the Grandma and Grandpa program that she will be putting on tomorrow. It was only about 20 minutes of them singing songs. But it was so so cute. I dont know why...but every dang school program that I go to...makes me want to break down and BAWL. Seeing them up there singing away is so cute!! I love it. Im so glad I have the oportunity to go to every single school program so far.

Got One.

Scott, Jentry, my Dad, Todd, Chad and Heidi all went up to Walsburg this Saturday. After a morning of hunting they were eating lunch and a bee flew up Jentrys glasses and stung her in the eye. From the sounds of things...she freaked (as I would have). So they turned around and started coming down the mountain. Chad saw this deer and Scott shot it from 22 yards with his bow. Its a 3x4. Poor Jentry's eyes are swollen in the picture...but shes a good sport to take a picture with a dead deer. She loves going hunting with her dad. It doesnt bother her one bit to have to wake up in the wee hours of the morning if it means she gets to be with her dad. Now if it means having to wake up by 8 to go to school..thats a different story.

ABC's

The other day after the girls had gone to school I was cleaning the kitchen. Ty was sitting at the counter watching me and I thought...this would be a good time to start singing the ABC's. I havent worked with him at all on those so he probably doesnt know more then just A-B-C. So I started singing them to him and he started singing them back to me!! I was shocked. He's not perfect, but this is video of his second time singing them. (you can turn off the music on the side of my blog by pushing the pause button so you can hear him better)

PARANOID...

Ty got a mosquito bite at Starvation. No big deal, right? Well 2 mornings ago he woke up and his eyes were swollen and across the bridge of his nose was swollen. I gave him some allergy medicine and we went on with our day. Still by night time he was swollen. So I told myself that if he was still swollen the next day Id take him in. Next morning he wakes up and his face looks no different from the night before. I called the doc and they said to bring him in. Call Jamie and she said she'd watch Chase. I get off of the phone, look down at Ty and I swear I could not even tell he was swollen. OF COURSE!!! All it takes is for me to call the doc and find a babysitter and he's cured. He still was a little swollen so I took him in. Doc said it was just from the mosquito bite and that the face and hands swell more then any other part of the body and the mosquito venim had just drained into his eyes and nose so that is the problem. So yes, I took my son into the doctors because he had a mosquito bite.

The other day we were eating lunch and Scott jumped up from the table and ran and got the camera, took a couple of pictures of Ty and continued to eat lunch. I think he thinks he's pretty cute. I do too. Ty on the other hand...was not co-operative with the pictures.

Starvation

This labor day weekend we went with my parents, aunts, uncles and parents friends to Starvation Reservoir. And we actually stayed the night. I think that is Chases first time sleeping over camping. Saturday was beautiful, Sunday was colder but still nice. The girls had a great time. Jentry had a few kids her age to play with (2 girls and 2 boys). They went on MANY hikes. Brinley also had a friend to play with and they got along GREAT!!! Even painted eachothers toes. Heres a few pictures of our trip.

Happy 100th Birthday Grandma!!!

Today I was web surfing and came across one of our family websites Ive never looked at. It's My Grandma Scotts (my dads mom), Mom. So my great Grandma. I was reading through some of the stuff and came across her birthday...which is...TODAY! September 2, 1908. I thought that was interesting how Id come across that on her birthday.

SO HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!

I do have a few memories of her from when I was little. I remember her siamese cats. They were mean and I dont think many dared pet them. I remember her coming over on Christmas morning to see what we got. I remember candy corns in her candy dish. I remember her funeral and Grandpa Sorenson telling jokes through the family prayer. I remember telling my sister Kym just to not be scared and just to act like she was asleep. It was the first funeral either of us had been to. And that is about all the memories I have of her. I should be better at Geneology. It fascinates me.

Date night...with the girls.

Every month we trade off kids with Scotts sister, Lisa, so that we can go on a date...just the two of us. Its worked out really well.

Today Scott came home and said...do you think you can get a babysitter? Lets go to Tepanyaki. I told him Im sure I could...but I think it would be fun to take the girls. We have been wanting to do that for a long time. I called Lisa, and she said she could babysit the boys...so off we went.

Tepanyaki is a Japanese grill where they cook it in front of you, and do a show. You know the kind. The girls were very excited to go with us!! I told them they have to at least try everything they get...and if they dont like it, they dont like it, I guess.

Brinley was just excited to get steak. She is a steak girl. And when I told her that they also serve shrimp...she was almost in heaven.

The cook was very funny with Brinley. When he went to give her her rice he just gave her one piece in her bowl. She looked at me and said "I dont think he even gave me any!" Then he only gave her one piece of steak. She looked at me and said "He is annoying!" She was not amused with his teasing. When he asked her how she wanted her steak cooked he acted like he couldnt hear her and told her that he was just going to have to cook it however he wanted. And if he didnt give her enough food then she would just have to go to McDonalds. She was not pleased. But of course, we were laughing.

Brinley ended up trying everything and loved almost everything except for the zucchini.



Jentry liked everything but the onion soup. Though I didnt tell her it was onion soup because I knew if I did she wouldnt have even tried it.

We had a fun night and it was great just to hang out with the girls. The boys had a great time at Aunt Lisa's. Ty told me she had TOYS!! I dont know if he has been downstairs in our playroom lately...but we have toys too. LOL

Memories Of Grandmas House.

Scotts grandma died in October. His Aunts and his dad have finally got her house on the market, ready to sell. Tonight we went over there after going to dinner to look around and I thought I should probably take some pictures of the girls while we were there. Who knows if we will get another chance.

This is the closet that all the kids would run to the second they would go to Grandma's. Thats where she kept the toys. Most of them were toys from when Scott was little or even older then that. There were dolls in there from her kids.



This is the poarch. I remember her telling me how much she loved her screen door. Said it was the "jewel of my home" I always thought that was so cute.



This is a tree that she got many many years ago (I think it was when Scotts dad was in his early 20's) for mothers day. She loved that tree.



Im going to miss going over there and seeing her (I already do).

Happy Birthday Grandpa... (Dad!!)

Its my dads 49th Birthday on Wednesday. Ive spent some time putting together slide shows of the grandkids for him. I think they turned out pretty cute. The only stupid thing about them is the videos that I recorded with my flip video...when I go to burn them to DVD they scrunch up at the top and have a green screen at the bottom. I dont think I have the size right. But being as computer illeterate as I am, I dont know how to change it. Id like to keep these cute videos in so Ill have to give him the videos like this and spend more time later trying to figure out what Im doing wrong. I dont expect any of you guys to watch these, they are long! But I wanted to post them here anyway. I love at the end of Ty's how he says "Im proud of you grandpa." Very cute!! Jentry has some weird memories at the end of hers. I dont know about that child. Chase is supposed to say bye at the end of his but instead he just points and Brinley...well she just woke up. lol.

First Day of School *08

I have TWO FULL DAYERS!

Brinley was so excited for school to start. She would wake up every day, for the last week, telling me "3 more days mom!" "Two more days mom!" ....

We woke up on Wednesday and the first thing out of her mouth was "Are we late?" We usually are late to everything, but not today.

Jentry was excited too but shes an old pro at this so she didnt show her excitement like Brinley did.

We got the lunches packed, dressed in new clothes, breakfast ate, hair done, teeth brushed.. and off we went!



We walked Jentry to her class. I tried to take a cute picture of her underneath her teachers name plate at the door. Kids had to stop and wait for me to take the picture and Jentry was none too pleased that I was taking pictures in front of her classmates. I told her to smile and this is what I got...the "GET OUT OF HERE MOM" look. Ill take what I can get.



Then me and Chase walked Brinley to her class. I went to take her picture but of course, she had to look at everyone walking by, so shes not even looking at the camera. Oh well.



I had forgotten to show Brinley where she hung her backpack and where her cubby was the day before at the open house so we went in and did that. And then left...

....
....
....

It was a long day.

But luckily we had Uncle Todd here to keep us company.. We went up the to Reservior. Todd had never been there and wanted to see it.

The boys decided it would be great fun to play in the water.







The girls finally came home and had had a great day. Brinley said she made a friend...just didnt know what her name was. Im sure they will be great friends. ;-)

Jentry came home talking about all the books she gets to read.

Today was a bit harder sending them off. They rode their bikes to school and it was a different feeling seeing little Brinley tag along with Jentry for a ride to school. Its usually just Jentry I send off.

Its still quiet...the boys are still asleep...

I think I could get used to this....
