Eye vs. Head. Head Wins....

Ty got his first big "OUCH" at school yesterday. From what I can gather him and a boy were running towards the soccer ball and collided. The secretary called me and said that he had gotten hurt. I told her I would be right down to get him but she said he didn't want to go home and he wasn't crying so he was fine to stay at school. She said she just didn't want to send him home with this goose egg on his eye and me wondering what happened. So I didn't expect THIS when he walked in the door.

Poor kid! This looks like it REALLY hurt. I cant believe he didn't cry! IF this would have happened at home he would have been bawling for days. Thank goodness it was at school where he has to be tough. He is also quick to correct me that it is not a black eye. Its a purple eye.
Today is does look a TON better!! So, I think he is on the mend.

Kindy 500

Yay...a parent project. I love these...NOT.

Ty's kindergarten did the kindy 500. This is where all the students...I mean parents make a cardboard car and the kids parade around the school with them. They do a short singing program and the parents get to leave. After the parents go home the kids "drive" around to different states learning about different things in the U.S. They visited The White House, Mt. Rushmore, Betsy Ross, The Statue of Liberty and The Lincoln Memorial.

Too bad Ty's parents are Creatively Challenged.

Jaxton Lee Shepherd

Bethany and Jeremy had their little Jaxton on Chase's birthday. He is so excited to share his birthday with such a cute little cousin!
After a loooooooooong haaaaaaaaaaaaard labor he finally made his appearance. I don't think Bethany will be doing that again any time soon!
Its so fun to hold and see a new little baby straight from heaven. You forget just how little they come.
We are excited to have you in our family cute baby Jaxton!!!

ANOTHER birthday! Chase finishes it off!!!

December and March are full of birthdays at this house! Chase finishes it off the day after Scott. I tried my hardest to have that boy on his dads birthday but I guess he wanted his own. (He was born about an hour and a half after Scotts birthday).
Chase woke up to birthday pancakes with a candle. Though there was only one candle it took him 3 tries to blow it out. He kept blowing over it. Finally when he blew it out he said.. "I wished Ty turned into a Raman Noodle." And then cracked up. What a nut!!!


Chase helped make cupcakes and of course got to lick the beater. Don't judge me..my kids like raw eggs.


Since we had just went out to eat for Scott's birthday the night before I let Chase choose whatever he wanted for dinner. He wanted an ORANGE dinner. Thank goodness all of his favorites are already orange. He had macaroni and cheese and an orange julius.


He got lots of fun presents. He also said this was his best birthday ever...except for last year...cause that was his best birthday ever too!

Scott Turned THIRTY-FOUR

This guy is getting older and older. And I keep getting younger and younger. So I don't really get it...but whatever.

Birthdays are just not as fun when you get old. But we try. The kids each picked him out a present they thought he would love. Jentry got him peeps, Brinley got him gummy worms and the boys got him diet root beer to wash down all of the calories. They also made him cards. I thought Ty's was funny because he didn't want to put "To Dad" He wanted it to say "To Scott" But Chase at least put Dad. I love their cute little handwriting.

We then went out to Brick Oven. Two of the kids had free meals and I won $15 on facebook. I spare no expense for the man I love, I tell ya what. ;)
Chase did enjoy his "round pizza". That's what he kept telling me he wanted. I don't know what other kind of pizza there is.


One day Ill plan an awesome birthday for Scott. And boy will he be surprised.

Grandpa got a tractor...

And the boys could not be more exctied. Especially Chase. Since the tractor is ORANGE! His favorite!

My Brinley Boo...

Brinley is a decade old! I can't even believe it. This girl has taught us so so so much. First and foremost... patience. I'm surprised she made it through being 3 years old. Many days I wondered if that would happen. I'm glad she's here to see her 10th Birthday!!!

Brinley can be THE sweetest child. She will sneak in our room and make our bed and leave notes or candy on our pillows at least twice a month. She will write me the cutest and nicest notes. ... Then she will turn around and throw the biggest fit and march up the stairs while screaming I HATE YOU! I HATE THIS FAMILY! EVERY ONE HATES ME! and slam her door.

Brinley is our tender heart. She loves every animal. And it kills her to know that we eat meat. Even though her favorite food is a steak or pot roast. Figure that. She likes to tell herself that hot dogs are grown in our garden. I've never picked a hot dog...

Brinley likes nothing better then to cuddle in bed and for me to sing to her, "You Are My Sunshine."
She is a girly girl. She loves flowers. If I ever get flowers from Scott threes always one missing...and its in Brinleys room. She loves them. That's all she wanted for her birthday. Everytime she would go with me to Costco she would pick out what bouquet she was going to get. Shes so funny.
Brinley is a homebody. She would rather stay home then go anywhere. Its like pulling teeth to get her to go anywhere with me.
She is starting to become more helpful. The other day she was scrubbing the bathroom. Toilets and everything. You just never know what that girl is going to do. She keeps her room mostly clean. That's more than I can say for her sister... (right Jentry...I know she's gonna read this).
Brinley hates reading but she LOVES listening to books.
She is good to just play on her own most of the time.
She is taking an interest in Bon Jovi. Every morning at 7 am we are serenaded by Bon Jovi singing "SHOT THROUGH THE HEART!!!"
Brinley loves to get up early and just hang out before school. She is not like her mom at all in that regard. A few times she has woken up at 8 am and gotten so mad that she is "up late" and threatened that she wasn't going to go to school now!! (School doesn't start until 9...but she thinks she has to be up early)
I can make Brinley do anything I want if I give her a little gulit trip. She hates to disappoint me. And I do use that to my advantage.

I love my Brinley Boo! I wonder if we will ever stop calling her Boo... Probably not.


Today for her birthday we got up and opened presents. Then, off to Costco for her boquet of flowers. We had lunch at Arctic Circle and tonight we are going to Sizzler for dinner. Her favorite places. We also went and saw a movie. Its been a busy day! We will finish the night off with her favorite... pumpkin pie!!!

This kid is sick.

I think Ill consider getting the flu shot next year. Maybe.

The flu is here. Poor Scott and Chase have gotten it the worst. Luckily it isn't the stomach flu so there is no throwing up. The flu has brought with it fevers, body aches, horrible sore throat, cough, and exhaustion.

Poor Scott has had it since Saturday. Then, Chase got it and it knocked him out...literally. He went to sleep right after I took Ty to school on Tuesday and slept all the rest of the day, all that night and into the next afternoon. 28 hours of sleeping! It was crazy. He would wake up for a minute or two and smile at you and fall back asleep.
It was pathetic...but I do have to say I got a lot of work done with him sleeping....Poor kiddo.

I think they are on the mend, though. I just hope we can keep from anymore of us getting it.
