Pumpkin Carving.

We arent much for pumpkin carving. Some of our neighbors really go out... but we are excited to get a smiley face that looks like a smiley face out of our pumpkins. This year we didnt disappoint. We got 4 whole faces! We are so proud!!

This is how it goes... First we all get a picture with our pumpkin...we want to remember how they were...nice, round, pretty, delicious...







Then we use a sharpie and make sure our faces are just right. We dont wanna mess these babies up! Then dad helps us carve them!



Then we marvel at our work. Dont be jealous. We can teach you how to carve pumpkins just like the Hendricksens!!





Then its time for a little halloween cookie making. That goes off without a hitch too!



After they are baked we find out we have no red food coloring to make orange frosting. So yellow will have to do!



We make sure to get just the right amount of frosting on! Look at that cookie...what could be better then frosting with a little bit of cookie? NOTHING!

Pick a Pumpkin!

This year we decided to try something new. I saw on one of my neighbors blogs that there was a pumpkin patch around here where the kids could go pick a pumpkin out for themselves. Sounds much funner then going over to Maceys and looking for one! So off we went! It was such a pretty night for pumpkin picking! It was the week before Halloween so most of the pumpkins had been picked over pretty good but we still found some good ones!! I used my neighbors advice and told them they could get a pumpkin as long as they could carry it themselves. Hence, Chases pumpkin!!


There was a little hay bale maze they could play in (ON) and the kids had a great time!



I think we will be going here every year!!

I had Jentrys retaken. She had major glare going on with her glasses. But I thought Brinleys turned out cute!

Rifle Hunt 2009

Well the rifle hunt is coming to a close. This is a big deal for my family. Every year since like 1900 (OK not that far back but pretty close) we have went to Wallsburg and stayed in about the same spot. This year my parents went up for about 2 weeks. They usually have some kind of grand kid with them. This year they were supposed to have both of the boys and my niece Shaylee. But Chase got sick. :( So it was just Shaylee and Ty for about four days. The girls had fall break off so they got to go up on Wednesday night and stay until I came on Friday and went home Saturday. My parents were going to pick Ty and Chase up again on Tuesday but they could not kick their tummy troubles and weren't able to go up and stay with grandma and grandpa again. :( (It wasn't just them that were sad about it. ;-) ) The weekend that we were able to go up was pretty fun! We had lots of family up there and lots of fun stories to tell! The kids really enjoyed riding the motorcycle and four wheelers! Brinley learned how to ride the motorcycle by herself. I was so proud of her. At first I just had to ride it down the hill in neutral so that she could figure out the brakes. I was too scared to let her have it in gear. But not her dad...He put it in gear for her and off she went. She did crash (more like fall over) about 2 times. But shes a tough cookie and got right back on after a few tears. Jentry is a little different than that...if she crashes or gets scared...she wont try it again for a few days, weeks, or possibly never. We love love love going up to Wallsburg. Even though there aren't any bucks up there. (which is fine by me!) We did see a moose on the way home though.

Can you hear me now?

Last night Ty came to me and said... "Would you get something out of my ear?" My dad always plays this game with him and pretends to get things out of his ear so that is what I thought he was talking about. So I grabbed the nearest block that was behind him and pretended to get it out of his ear. He looked at me and said... "No! Get this out of my ear!" and showed me a little Styrofoam ball from one of the bean bags. I looked in his ear and sure enough..I could see a little ball down there!!

Scott decided maybe we should do a little more ear damage and tried to suck it out with the vacuum. (You know you're a red neck....) That didn't work so off he went to walmart to get some tweezers. We have gotten this far without having any tweezers and I think this could explain my uni-brow..hmmm....

When he got home he was able to pull that sucker out!! What will it be next??

Last Day of Silence...

The boys have been gone all week camping with my parents in Wallsburg. The girls have had school and Ive been here. Alone. The first day I went out running errands with my cousin Mandy. Wow was it easy to just hop out of the car and not have to worry about getting the boys out or strapped back in to their car seats. Be on constant alert for anything that they might touch in the stores or keep them fed, pottied, quiet. You know the drill.

Its been a quiet week! And Ive missed my boys!! I got a few things done that needed to be done without "helpers". But I'm ready for them to come home! I'm ready for the fighting, wrestling, biting, hitting, kissing, talking, playing! Tonight we go up and spend the night with them and then I'll bring them home tomorrow! I'm excited.

"We are not babies!! Us is big boys!"

Today is a good day. I'm feeling very blessed that I get to stay home with these two hoodlums everyday!!! They are so cute!! Today we went shopping and they were actually VERY well behaved. I was looking through the clearance rack at Kmart and Ty treated me and the whole store to a whole verse of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. He even had one lady come and tell him how cute it was and that he did a good job. When we went up to the cashier she kept telling me how cute they were.

Since they were so good while we went shopping I told them we could stop and get a drink at the gas station. Isn't that nice of me? It wasn't because I needed my diet dr pepper fix. Nu uh. It was because of how good they were at the store.

The cashier there couldn't get over how cute they were. She thought for sure they were twins. We got that a lot today. It doesnt help that I dress them alike.

I'm a pretty lucky mama!

First Day of School 2009

(better late then never)

Jentry started the 6th grade this year (sniff, sniff). This is her last year in Elementary. That makes me so sad. Somehow next year wont be the same with me following her around to each class taking her pictures on the first day of school. (that isn't weird, right? ;o) )



I was going to let the kids ride their bikes on the first day but Jentry was a little upset at that. She asked me how I was going to take her picture in front of her class if she walked. So I loaded up the boys and off we went.

So far 6th grade is going great. She is a little nervous about all of the homework...but I think she will make it through. She always does.

Brinley started 2nd grade this year!! She looooves her teacher because she is a "singing teacher" and they are learning lots of fun new songs! Her teacher is a really great teacher and I'm excited to see how much she learns this year!! She also likes that her teacher is a grandma!

2nd half of summer....

This will be another long post. But it is long over due. Summer is over and school has started. Much to my dismay! I love summer. And I love having my kiddos home!! They were ready to start school though and they are excited its here!!! So for your viewing pleasure....here is our 2nd half of summer!!! (I might be a little out of order but you will get the jist)

Bethany and Jeremy were married in the Mt Timpanogos Temple (what a great temple to be sealed in..wink wink)on July 17, 2009 It was ONE HOT DAY! I thought we might kill someone off in that heat...but we all survived..











On July 22nd or so Jentry went with her grandma and some of her cousins to South Dakota to see Mt Rushmore. She was very excited for this trip because this was "her state" in 5th grade. She had to do a states report on it so she got to see what South Dakota was really about!! These are some of her pictures.

I was glad to finally get her back home!! She had been to her cousins sleeping over for a few days before her trip and then she went on her trip. I felt like she was gone forever. But I know she had a great time!!! I'm so glad she was able to go on this trip!

We did a lot of swimming this summer! After my first time getting burnt and not being able to walk properly for a few days I decided sun screen was my best friend and I actually got a pretty nice tan after that. Ty learned how to jump in the water and swim back to the side (with a life jacket) He was so proud of himself and he would always come up with the biggest smile and those long wet eyelashes. I loved it!! He is such a cute boy!! Chase would jump in the water too as long as I was holding his hand. Such big boys. Growing up way too quickly!! Brinley was a little fish. There was one moment where someone puked in the pool (right by us!! ACK!) so we had to go into the deep pool. I was wondering how I was going to do that with Brinley...I had my arms full with two boys. She was just fine. She swam around in it even though she couldn't touch the bottom! I was so proud of her!! Jentry, of course, swims really well too! I'm so glad my kiddos aren't scared of the water!

Drea got baptized!! Brinley is next! Wowzers!! I cant believe how old these kids are!




We went to Starvation






We went to the Utah County fair that is held at the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds. We just went around and looked at the animals because Im too cheap to pay $3 a ride! Next year we will try to get tickets to the crash up derby! I bet we would love it. Ive only heard good things about it. It was going on while we were there and I thought this picture was so funny..all the men trying to catch a free peek at a car getting crushed.

We have a GARDEN!!!

When we first planted our garden I didnt really think it would turn out. I thought we MIGHT get a few things from it...but I didnt expect it to really GROW!! Im so excited! We are about to pick our FIRST cucumber! We have two that are really close. We have lots of squash coming a long and lots of zuccini, raddishes and peppers!!! Next year Ill know not to get so many plants of the same thing and that we will need more room!

I've published my first book....

Ok not really, but kinda. I finally published my blog into a REAL book!! I'm so excited about this. My friend Tiffany had said something about how she had done this and I had been wanting to do it for awhile but didn't know how it would turn out or really even how to do it. So when she said where she got hers done (blurb.com) and that it turned out good I was on it!! I spent all day and ALL night (til 4 am) editing and going through my blog. It was so fun to go through all of my old posts and read about the boys' births again. I'm glad to have this in print...because though this blog is for family and friends to see what we are up to...its mostly a journal for me to keep of our family.
