I don't think I could possibly catch up on our life from where I left off so Ill just talk about some high lights. I guess I don't get as much down time in the summer as I think I do because I didn't blog the whole time. But that's fine by me! Id rather be living life than writing about it. But I guess I should do a little bit of writing about it too.

Summer was a lot of camping trip with the Laurels (16-18 year old girls) We went to Laurel Retreat in Kolob Canyon and then to Youth Conference. I really enjoyed the time with Jentry. We also did our annual Yuba trip, swimming lessons, 4th of July parades, cousin hang outs, sleep overs and swimming as much as we could. We also ran our first family 5k. It was a temple to temple run in Provo. The kids didn't enjoy it as much as Scott and I did. I sure love having my kids home in the summer...but I think Ive said that enough.

Oh my goodness, its been awhile. And here I go again.. Trying to catch up... But now Im not even going to be able to do that. I guess I should just start where I am. I found this in my drafts folder. FROM LAST YEAR... Oh man. My kids really love reading my blog book that I had published and I know I should do an updated one so I better just start where I am. So here goes...

I belong

Elder Jeffrey R. Holland in speaking of the divinity of The Book of Mormon said: For 179 years this book has been examined and attacked, denied and deconstructed, targeted and torn apart like perhaps no other book in modern religious history—perhaps like no other book in any religious history. And still it stands. Failed theories about its origins have been born and parroted and have died—from Ethan Smith to Solomon Spaulding to deranged paranoid to cunning genius. None of these frankly pathetic answers for this book has ever withstood examination because there is no other answer than the one Joseph gave as its young unlearned translator. In this I stand with my own great-grandfather, who said simply enough, “No wicked man could write such a book as this; and no good man would write it, unless it were true and he were commanded of God to do so.” I testify that one cannot come to full faith in this latter-day work—and thereby find the fullest measure of peace and comfort in these, our times—until he or she embraces the divinity of the Book of Mormon and the Lord Jesus Christ, of whom it testifies. I ask that my testimony of the Book of Mormon and all that it implies, given today under my own oath and office, be recorded by men on earth and angels in heaven. I hope I have a few years left in my “last days,” but whether I do or do not, I want it absolutely clear when I stand before the judgment bar of God that I declared to the world, in the most straightforward language I could summon, that the Book of Mormon is true, that it came forth the way Joseph said it came forth and was given to bring happiness and hope to the faithful in the travail of the latter days.
