Eight? Already???

Where has the time gone? How did Jentry turn 8 already??? I cant believe it. I look at her and she isnt even a kid anymore. She is getting more and more features of an young girl now. :( She has opinions. She has idea's. She knows so much more then I think she should and I wonder HOW?? Where is time going? Shes just growing up. I remember being sooo excited for her to be born...not knowing what I was in for...she changed our lives forever. But for the best. I look at her and think about all the things she has went through with us. She has been here pretty much our whole marriage in one form or another. She's the first. Our little guinea pig. Helping us work all the bugs out. I love her.

The last few months with her have kind of been a challenge. I dont know if it's because Im pregnant...or because this is just how it is when you have a girl that is growing up. We butt heads a lot. I expect a lot from her. Can't wait for the teenage years. They aren't far off.

Yesterday, for her birthday, we did whatever SHE wanted too. So we went and saw Santa, got a picture with him...went to Sizzler for dinner and then went to the Festival of Lights...and drove through two times. Just for her. She loved being able to pick what we did. Tonight we will have a party. Shes very excited for that...says its like having 2 birthdays. It is.

I love that girl.

Leslie said...: I know!!! Yesterday she had a talk in church. she reminded me like 15 minutes before church. So I found her a poem and she was able just to read it by herself...it was so weird. Shes too grown up.; 1:16 PM

Holland in speaking of the divinity of The Book of Mormon said: For 179 years this book has been examined and attacked, denied and deconstructed, targeted and torn apart like perhaps no other book in modern religious history—perhaps like no other book in any religious history. And still it stands. Failed theories about its origins have been born and parroted and have died—from Ethan Smith to Solomon Spaulding to deranged paranoid to cunning genius. None of these frankly pathetic answers for this book has ever withstood examination because there is no other answer than the one Joseph gave as its young unlearned translator. In this I stand with my own great-grandfather, who said simply enough, “No wicked man could write such a book as this; and no good man would write it, unless it were true and he were commanded of God to do so.” I testify that one cannot come to full faith in this latter-day work—and thereby find the fullest measure of peace and comfort in these, our times—until he or she embraces the divinity of the Book of Mormon and the Lord Jesus Christ, of whom it testifies. I ask that my testimony of the Book of Mormon and all that it implies, given today under my own oath and office, be recorded by men on earth and angels in heaven. I hope I have a few years left in my “last days,” but whether I do or do not, I want it absolutely clear when I stand before the judgment bar of God that I declared to the world, in the most straightforward language I could summon, that the Book of Mormon is true, that it came forth the way Joseph said it came forth and was given to bring happiness and hope to the faithful in the travail of the latter days.
